Back to the Beginning: Rediscovering Identity in Christ

This year, one of our deepest convictions has been to begin with being before doing—to anchor our lives and ministry in our identity in Christ and deep abiding in Him. We believe that faithful living and effective church planting across the globe must start with the transformation of the heart.
In that pursuit, Joey was introduced to a powerful African worldview study that sheds light on the deep, often unspoken beliefs carried over from traditional religion. These beliefs—sometimes unknowingly woven into the life of the church—have become a hidden stranglehold, limiting church multiplication and disciple-making.
Every time this teaching has been shared, it has brought clarity, conviction, and hope. African brothers and sisters walk away with a deeper understanding of where syncretism has taken root and a renewed desire to walk in the freedom of Christ’s truth.
This Easter weekend, we have the privilege of rolling out this study with our closest disciples and church planting partners from six East African countries. We’ll be diving deep into the theme of returning to our true identity in Christ—through discussion, repentance, and recommitment to the gospel.
Please pray with us. Pray for the Holy Spirit to bring revelation, healing, and forgiveness. And pray that from this place of rediscovered identity, the gospel would go forth with greater clarity and power than ever before.
