We led a week-long church planting training in Tunisia with a small group of Tunisian Muslim background believers (MBBs). As is common in Muslim North Africa, we encountered a lot of fear among the believers. At dinner one night, they told Joey, “You can’t share the Gospel with Muslims in Tunisia.” So, Joey shared the Gospel with the waiter, who was very interested, and several of the believers had a life-changing moment. Their eyes grew big, and they told Joey, “You have to teach us how to do that; you have to take us out with you to share the Gospel!” By the end of the week, God had replaced the spirit of fear with a heart of excitement and passion for the lost!
Most exciting, within one day after the training ended, we received reports that the believers we had trained were already training others. That was a month ago, and we just received another message that they are still at it! They are sharing the Gospel, training leaders from all over, and have already been to three cities! There is an immediate need to return as soon as possible and help foster this emerging movement. Joey is trying to schedule a return trip, but unfortunately, the next few months are packed. Please pray that the Gospel will spread like wildfire in Tunisia.
Tunisia highlights from the kids: ancient Carthage and the Colesium, where early Christians, including Perpetua, were martyred, crepes, cappuccino, cheap/delicious ice cream on the beach, and peaches!
This is our favorite thing we have heard in a long time!
